About Me

I'm a forensic scientist specialising in the scientific examination of documents and handwriting. I trained at the Metropolitan Police Forensic Science Laboratory and I have over 30 years of experience. I'm able to assist in a wide range of questioned documents cases including those involving the authenticity of handwriting and signatures, determining whether or not documents were produced on the same printer and identifying counterfeit or forged documents. Experience

I am a forensic document examiner and handwriting expert with over 20 years of experience.
I trained in all aspects of forensic document examination at the Metropolitan Police Forensic Science Laboratory.
In 1999, I became head of the Questioned Documents Team at the Forensic Science Service in London.
I received a Metropolitan Police commendation in 2007 for my forensic work in a long running police investigation.
I have presented evidence in court on many occasions, in the UK and abroad, including at the Central Criminal Court (Old Bailey), Royal Courts of Justice, Crown Courts, Magistrates Courts and Coroners’ Courts.
I have carried out thousands of handwriting and forensic document examinations in a wide range of cases.
I have worked on civil and criminal cases in the UK and other countries and for prosecution and defence cases.
I have been a lecturer and examiner in forensic document examinations at King's College, University of London.
I have published research in obtaining forensic evidence from documents and was featured on BBC TV, Radio 4 and BBC World Service.
In 2012, I set up my own independent forensic document examination consultancy offering forensic document services for national and international clients.

Examinations

I have long experience of providing a high quality forensic document service covering a wide range of questioned document examinations. I have worked on a many of cases involving comparing questioned signatures with known genuine signatures to determine whether they are genuine or forgeries. I am also able to compare handwritings to determine whether or not they were written by the same person. I also have considerable experience of working on cases involving the output of office machinery such as printers and photocopiers.  The following are just some of the examinations types I have considerable experience in carrying out.
